High School Diploma or GED.
Some knowledge of, and experience in, a retail business is preferred.
Ability to multitask and demonstrate the emotional and physical stamina to deal with a variety of stressful situations.
Ability to walk, bend, stoop, twist at waist, reach, climb stairs, lift and carry at least 25 lbs.
and to tolerate prolonged periods of standing.
Ability to grasp, bend, and stoop; push or pull heavy loads weighing up to 75 lbs.
; and lift and/or carry or otherwise move packages, and boxes.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
A.
Welcome and assist donors in moving goods from their vehicle to the receiving area.
B.
Ensure receiving area is clean and ready to receive donations during posted hours.
C.
Maintain tax receipts and ensure an adequate supply of tax receipts for distribution to donors.
D.
Ensure that volunteers and community service workers have all supplies and training necessary to do their jobs.
E.
Ensure that sorted items are moved into pricing area in a neat and orderly fashion.
F.
Maintain receiving area in a safe, clean and orderly condition for all workers.
G.
If applicable, treat sleep/bedding donations according to the germicidal treatment requirements of the Texas Department of State Health Services.
H.
When requested by a supervisor, assist with the inside store area if needed.
I.
Attend monthly team meetings and other agency meetings as required.
